Al-Ayyam Kashkool Library held a book launch ceremony for “The Role of the Bahraini Constitutional Court in Protecting Rights and Freedoms.” The book’s highlights include, first, a comparative study of its kind in the Kingdom of Bahrain by Dr. Amal Mohammed Aqeel Arshi. The second book, “Encyclopedia of Notarization for Public and Private Notaries in the Kingdom of Bahrain,” is written by Dr. Amal Mohammed Aqeel Arshi and Professor and Lawyer and Legal Advisor Lubna Mohammed Hassan Al-Hassan.

In the presence of Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, former Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Kingdom, Dr. Hassan Bukhammas, Member of the House of Representatives, Dr. Lulwa Al Mutlaq, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Bahraini Administrative Society, and a crowd of citizens, including academics, professionals, writers, members of the judicial and legal services in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and a number of businessmen and women, the ceremony was hosted by Issa Hejres, who spoke about the role of Dr. Amal Arshi and Ms. Lubna Mohammed Al Hassan in authoring these two books and their contributions to enriching local and Arab libraries with important legal information.

Dr. Amal Arshi then spoke about her book, “The Role of the Bahraini Constitutional Court in Protecting Rights and Freedoms,” the fruit of seven consecutive years of effort, which finally bore fruit with her obtaining a PhD in Public Law with distinction from Alexandria University in the Arab Republic of Egypt. This book is of interest to a wide range of practitioners in the field of judicial law and highlights the fundamental role of the Constitutional Court in protecting rights and freedoms. The court sets a standard for its role in overseeing the constitutionality of laws and regulations related to rights and freedoms. The idea for this book was inspired by the lofty royal vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, may God protect him, which has contributed to supporting the modernization of state institutions and constitutional authorities, strengthening judicial independence, and protecting the rights and freedoms of individuals under the law. This has been reflected in the development of the judicial system in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

In her turn, Ms. Lubna Al Hassan said that it is the month of harvest and a good conclusion to a year full of achievements, and in conjunction with the national celebrations and Bahraini Women’s Day under the slogan “Bahraini Women: An Active Partner in Building the State.” We translated these activities into a tangible reality through the first fruits of work that took a lot of effort and time, and we presented this bouquet of chapters that contain the helm of this book “Encyclopedia of Documentation for Public and Private Notaries in the beloved Kingdom of Bahrain.”

Al Hassan affirmed that efforts will continue to support the development of the judicial system, which constitutes a pivotal goal in His Majesty the King’s pioneering reform and modernization project. May God grant us and you success in contributing further to this dear nation.
